Smoking Cessation

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI) http://www.smokefree.gov/guide/ This publication guides you through the entire process, from thinking about quitting to doing it. Includes a comprehensive on-line quit guide and ability to talk to an expert via instant messaging or telephone.
  • Centers for Disease Control (CDC): Tobacco Information and Prevention Source (TIPS) http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/edumat.htm TIPS coordinates efforts aimed at preventing smoking among youth, smoking cessation, and protecting non-smokers from second-hand smoke. Includes a section for employers and a guide to smoking policies in and around the workplace. Text is also available in Spanish.
